Thanks to Walter Block's letter I know there are some phd (in economics) granting universities that require only a dissertation. I wonder if there is any university as such granting phd's in politics the same way.

Only dissertation, as in no coursework or general exams? I know there is one in Great Britain but I can't remember the name of it off hand.
