Paul Johnson
Paul Johnson (1928–2023) was an English journalist, historian, speechwriter and author. He was educated at the Jesuit independent school Stonyhurst College, and at Magdalen College, Oxford, where one of his tutors was the historian A.J.P. Taylor. His books include The History of the Jews (1987) and A History of the American People (1997), and in 1999 he wrote the introduction to Murray N. Rothbard's America's Great Depression.
